Citizen Science: Environmental Awareness at Native Square Joaquín Heredia Reyes

On August 29, Rad.Ar had the pleasure of participating in a community event held to celebrate Tree Day and the birthday of Joaquín Heredia Reyes, at the square named after him, in the San Roque Commune, Punilla Department, Córdoba (Argentina).

We engaged in enriching socio-environmental dialogues with park rangers, artists, fire brigade members, and local residents. We worked together to raise awareness and exchange ideas on how to improve our relationship with natural spaces.

We continue measuring radon in homes across the Punilla Valley, uranium in soil and rock, and analyzing drinking water. We have also begun to explore the world of plants and their relationship with soils containing high levels of uranium.
