Rad.Ar at the 3rd UBA Environmental Conference

On Friday, June 5, we had the great pleasure of participating in the 3rd UBA Environmental Conference (ProSA–FCEN–UBA) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Events such as these provide valuable opportunities to strengthen and inspire the community working on socio-environmental issues through management, assessment, and action. At the conference, Rad.Ar presented the first results on radon in water from a recent sampling campaign conducted in May 2026 in groundwater and surface water bodies across the southern Punilla Department, Córdoba, Argentina.
Our findings indicate that, although radon concentrations were below the reference levels proposed by the WHO, some anomalous cases were identified that warrant a more comprehensive investigation of the soil–water–air interfaces. At the international level, significant knowledge gaps remain regarding the potential health effects of radon ingestion, as opposed to inhalation, and the establishment of evidence-based recommended levels for radon in drinking water.
